Rivers United Pays Condolence Visit To Late John Young Harry’s Family

Rivers United Football Club has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late assistant coordinator of the club John Young Harry who passed on Monday 18th January 2021, in Port Harcourt.

The condolence visit which had the approval of the Commissioner for sports Rivers State Honourable Boma Iyaye was led by the General Manager of the club Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu and had in attendance, members of the management team to commiserate with the family.

While speaking at the occasion, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu described the death of Mr John Young Harry popularly known as “Odegiya” as painful and an irreparable loss to both the family, Rivers United football club and the Ministry of Sports, adding that “Odegiya” shall be missed.

Chief Dr Okey Kpalukwu, who was received by the wife of the deceased, Mrs Young Harry emphasized that the management team represented the entire Rivers United family and that they were there to share in the grief and sorrows of the wife, children and the entire family.
While expressing sadness over the demise of Odegiya, the General Manager described the deceased as one man whose love for the team was immeasurable, adding that his death was not just a loss to his immediate family but also to all because he lived as a friend, brother and father to many.

Chief Okey Kpalukwu while encouraging the family to take solace in God, also conveyed the message from the Commissioner for Sports Rivers State Honourable Boma Iyaye that the Ministry of Sports and the Rivers United family will support them in every way to give the deceased a befitting burial, saying that death was an ultimate end for everyone.
He also prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.

While responding for the family, Mrs Young Harry thanked the General Manager and his entourage for the visit and expressed happiness for the support pledged by the Commissioner for sports Hon Boma Iyaye and prayed God to bless and grant them journey mercies back home.
