en matches will be played across all ten stadias on Sunday 4th February 2018 as the Nigeria professional football league (Npfl) enters Matchday seven.
One of the matches will be decided at the Yakubu Gowon stadium in Port Harcourt where last two seasons runners-up in the league – Rivers United and one of the four newly promoted side to the Nigeria’s elites football league – Go Round fc of Omoku will trade tackles against each other.
The encounter between the two sides will mark the beginning of another ‘Port Harcourt derby’ following the scraping of Sharks and Dolphins FC to form Rivers United in 2016.
The Port Harcourt side struggled to make a serious splash last season and will be hoping to improve this season but are yet to impress their fans and supporters so far, though the league season is in her early days.
The ‘Pride of Rivers’ are the only side in the league that has not recorded a goal on the road and are literarily struggling to win at home. Israel Daniel ‘s strike in the 76minutes help them share the spoil with Enyimba in MD five when the Garden city landlord played at home.
The camp of the Go Round fc will be flaming in confidence coming into this match following their 2-1 win against Nassarawa united at home on Wednesday in Matchday six and an away point from Dan Ayam stadium where they held Heartland to a 1-1 draw in Matchday four.
After Matchday six, Rivers United only garnered seven points from a possible eighteen points same as the ‘Ngozi Elechi’ tutored side.
This will be another Port Harcourt derby that will go down in the annals of Nigeria football.
