General Manager of Rivers United FC, Chief Dr. Okechukwu Kpalukwu has lauded players and technical crew of the club for their impressive 1-1 draw against NigerTornadoes in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Wednesday.
Chief Kpalukwu however added noted that the hard work and discipline which culminated in the favourable result in Minna will be tantamount to an effort in futility if good results in the coming days are not consistent.
“I commend the boys for the point garnered in Minna. It was a game we could have won but a draw is not such a bad result,” Chief Kpalukwu told our official website, www.riversunitedfc.com.ng.
He added that he promised a cash reward of one hundred and eighty thousand naira to the team of they won in Minna and redeemed the pledge immediately after the game by presenting the players with half that amount for the draw.
He added that he will not relent in personally motivating the team and revealed that a similar package was available for the club’s next away match against Sunshine Stars in Akure.
Chief Kpalukwu concluded by thanking the sponsors of the club, the Rivers State Government for consistently throwing it’s weight behind the side.
He added that supporters and fans should keep the faith as players, technical crew and management of RUFC remain obligated to outing smiles on their faces this season.
